Get along swimmingly

We believe in the transformative power of communities. Our tool provides the roadmap you need, guiding you through purposeful planning, engaging activities, and effective governance. Turn your vision into a community that stands the test of time.

Sections

Identity

Strong communities have a clear and explicit sense of who they are, why they exist and what they stand for. These questions influences all other parts of the community and that is why Identity is the first section, but also visually at the core of the Canvas.

Experience

In the second part of the Canvas we explore the community from the perspective of the members: what does actually happen in it and how does it translate its Identity into concrete activities that create value for the members?

Structure

The third part of the Canvas focuses on the operational elements of running a community. And while many communities start enthusiastically, only few survive in the long-term. This section asks: what gives the community stability and helps it run smoothly?

How to use it

1. Create your Canvas

Start here, by creating and naming your empty canvas.

2. Add Sections, Themes, and Questions

Select which sections you’d like to work on. There are three sections with 17 sections. Each section has suggested questions for you, but you can also add your own.

3. Invite Participants

Participants are your community members. These are the people you will be collaborating with as you add content to your Canvas. You can add as many participants as you’d like.

4. Collaborate, Discuss, Document

Add suggestions. Discuss ideas. Improve. When you’re done, you have the foundation of your community documented in your own Canvas.

5. Export the results

When you’re done, you can export or share your Canvas with new community members.

What it costs

Nothing. NaboCanvas is free, and will stay free.
